Wanted man arrested in Elkhart faces multiple charges of Child Molesting

ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart Police Department reports officers arrived to the 1400 block of W. Franklin Street around 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, to assist an outside agency serving an arrest warrant.

The suspect, 37-year-old Marc McGuffey, was wanted out of Marion County, Ind. for Child Molesting.

Police say McGuffey initially refused to exit the residence and officers had reason to believe he could be armed.

Elkhart County Regional SWAT team was then called in at which point McGuffey exited the home and surrendered before SWAT was deployed.

McGuffey was arrested shortly after 2:30 p.m. and booked into Elkhart County Jail on his outstanding warrants.

In Marion County, McGuffey is charged with three counts of Felony 1 Child Molesting, two counts of Level 4 Child Molesting Fondling or touching with child under 14, Battery Resulting Bodily Injury Person Under 14, a Level 5 Felony, Dissemination of Matter Harmful to Minors, a Level 6 Felony, and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, a Misdemeanor.

McGuffey's charges stem from incidents which allegedly occurred between 2016 and 2019.

The victim stated when she was 8, 9, and 10 years old, McGuffey made her watch porn, forced her to perform sexual acts on him, hit her, made her smoke meth, and attempted to have sexual intercourse with her.
