UPDATE: The La Porte Police Department reports investigators quickly identified the shooting suspect as 23-year-old Jordan Jackson, who fled Maple Tree Apartments prior to officers’ arrival.

La Porte SWAT was activated, and with assistance from the La Porte County Sheriff's Office, they executed a search warrant at a second location where Jackson was taken into custody without further incident.

The investigation determined a second suspect was involved, identified as Larry Jackson. Larry was subsequently taken into custody. 

Jordan is charged with Attempted Murder, a Level 2 Felony, with other possible charges pending.

Larry is charged with Aiding and Abetting, a Level 2 Felony.

ORIGINAL STORY: LA PORTE, Ind. -- The La Porte Police Department reports officers responded to Maple Tree Apartments around 1:10 a.m., Wednesday, for reports of a person being shot.

La Porte SWAT was activated on the scene of the shooting, and the suspect was taken into custody.

This was an isolated incident; there is no threat to the public.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.

LPPD is still investigating the incident and will release more detailed information as it becomes available.
