Vice President Kamala Harris gives keynote speech at Indianapolis sorority

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Vice President Kamala Harris gave the keynote speech at Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.’s Grand Boulé in Indianapolis as part of her Summer of Engagements Wednesday

The Zeta Phi Beta Sorority is part of the "Divine Nine," a group of four sororities and five fraternities that make up the National Pan-Hellenic Council, which were established to uplift the Black community through education, social change, and economic empowerment.

Harris is a fellow "Divine Nine" member, according to the Office of the Vice President,

The summer series of engagements with key constituencies is said to be a continuation of Harris’ work to build diverse coalitions and ensure no community is overlooked or taken for granted.

Wednesday's keynote follows her speech at Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.’s 71st Boulé in Dallas.
