County council president responds to GOP backlash
CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- The Cass County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to 18089 State St. in the Village of Vandalia on Wednesday around 1:51 a.m. to investigate a shooting.
The report states two men were having a verbal argument when it turned physical, leading to one man, a 24-year-old, being shot in the foot.
Deputies say the second man fled the scene before they arrived.
The gunshot victim was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect remains at large, and his name is being withheld at this time.
Authorities say there's currently no threat to the public.
