Single-vehicle crash causes SUV to flip Thursday night

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- Authorities say an Elkhart man was driving too fast when he flipped his car Thursday night at the intersection of C.R. 11 and C.R. 6.

The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office says a 55-year-old Elkhart man, later identified as David Pacheco, driving a 2024 GMC Sierra when he was involved in a single-vehicle crash around 10:30 p.m. on May 29. 

Authorities say the driver was travelling north on C.R. 11 at a high rate of speed, missed a turn, and lost control of the vehicle.

The vehicle struck a guard rail, then flipped over onto its top. The driver was transported to the hospital. 

This investigation is ongoing.
