ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to a home in the 56000 block of Spruce Lane on Sunday around 11:52 a.m. regarding what they describe as criminal recklessness while armed with a deadly weapon.

Authorities say a 34-year-old man told them a group of unknown juveniles threw a homemade spear at his son who was walking their dog around 11:50 a.m.

Deputies arrived and were unable to locate the accused juveniles.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and no further details are available at this time.
