On Friday, Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb announced that retail and commercial businesses, including shopping malls, can reopen at 50% capacity starting May 4.
Simon's properties will reopen with limited hours to allow for time to sanitize. Those hours will be Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 6 p.m.
Upon reopening, employees, contractors and vendors at Simon-owned malls and outlets will be required to screen themselves at home prior to going to work. Anyone with a temperature exceeding 100.4 degrees or exhibiting flu-like symptoms will be required to stay home.
Employees will also be wearing protective face coverings while working.
Only one person per 50 square feet of space will be allowed inside of Simon’s properties.
Queueing protocols will go into place to manage traffic as well and some entrances will be closed off.
All play areas, stroller and valet stations and drinking fountains will be temporarily closed.
In restrooms, every other sink and urinal will be taped off and restricted so that guests will be spaced out.
Floor markers will be present inside of retail spaces showing where shoppers should stand in order to maintain CDC recommended social distancing.
