Two-vehicle crash, driver cited for never receiving license

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. - The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports officers responded to a two-vehicle crash that occurred at US Highway 20 and CR 19, around 2:25 p.m., Wednesday, June 7.

The report states a Ford Freestyle, driven by 35-year-old Martha Ordonez Ruiz of Elkhart, turned west onto US Highway 20 from CR 19 and failed to yield to the right-of-way of a Toyota Highlander, driven by 25-year-old Karina Narvaez of Elkhart.

Narvaez was driving west on US Highway 20 when she collided with Ruiz due to the failure to yield.

Ruiz had minor lacerations to her neck and complaints of leg pain.

Narvaez was checked out by medics on-scene.

Neither driver was taken to the hospital, according to the report.

Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in this crash.

Authorities say Ruiz was cited for failure to yield to right-of-way and never receiving a driver's license.
