Two teens facing charges for curfew violation

ELKHART, Ind. --  Two teens were arrested early Sunday on a curfew violation. One of the teens was in possession of a handgun at the time of his arrest, according to Elkhart Police.

Police were in the area of S. Main and High streets at 4 a.m. when they located a 15-year-old and 16-year-old who were in violation of curfew, police said.

As officers took the 15-year-old into custody, they located a handgun, reports said.

The 15-year-old was arrested on preliminary charges of curfew violation and dangerous possession of a firearm.

The 16-year-old was arrested on a preliminary charge of curfew violation.
