Two seriously injured in Rochester crash

FULTON COUNTY, Ind. – Two people were flown to a Fort Wayne hospital Monday afternoon for serious injuries following a crash on the Fulton and Marshall County Line, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office reported.

At 3 p.m., Fulton County 911 received multiple calls about a crash on the U.S. 31 southbound lane and State Road 110.

When emergency responders arrived, they found a red 2010 Chevy Silverado pickup truck and a 2017 Ford F350 pulling a 5th wheel camper off the roadway in the southwest corner of the intersection in the ditch.

A preliminary investigation suggests that the Silverado was westbound on S.R. 110 and crossing the southbound lanes of U.S. 31 when it allegedly pulled into the path of the Ford F350, deputies said.

The driver and passenger of the Silverado were extricated from the truck by Rochester Fire and both were flown from the scene with critical injuries.

The driver of the F350 was checked by medics on scene and released with minor injuries due to airbag deployment.
