Two sent to hospital after crash in Cass County

CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- The Cass County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Old 205 and Kristy Lane in Mason Township on Monday around 1:37 p.m.

Deputies' investigation shows a vehicle, driven by 24-year-old Caitlyn Gose of Edwardsburg, was stopped on Old 205 while attempting to turn left on Kristy Lane.

The report states another vehicle, driven by 23-year-old Jakub Jaskiewicz of Niles, was traveling east on Old 205 when deputies say he failed to stop, striking Gose, forcing her vehicle off the road.

Gose and her passenger, 35-year-old Joshua Miller of Edwardsburg, were taken to Elkhart General Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.

Authorities say alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

The report states all occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

This crash remains under investigation.
