Two men arrested, liquid drugs and guns seized following traffic stop
MSP SWET VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. -- Michigan State Police reports a Mishawaka man and a South Bend man were arrested on March 7, following a traffic stop on I-94 in Paw Paw Township.
Police say a traffic stop was initiated on a vehicle for lane violation and improper registration on I-94 near mile-marker 59.
The report states the stop resulted in the seizure of 20 boxes containing 240 bottles of Promethazine Hydrochloride, found not to be prescribed or purchased legally.
MSP says this substance is commonly mixed with fruit juice, Sprite, and dangerous drugs such as fentanyl, and is sold on the black market.
The driver, a 23-year-old Mishawaka man, was arrested and booked into the Van Buren County Jail for carrying a concealed weapon.
The passenger, a South Bend man, was also arrested and taken to VBCJ for receiving and concealing a stolen firearm.
