Two injured in crash involving motorcycle on US 31

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- A motorcyclist was airlifted from the scene of a crash on US 31 at 12 B Road Friday afternoon, according to the Indiana State Police.

Police say a car was stopped at a stop sign on 12B Road at US 31 when he pulled onto US 31 in the path of a motorcycle traveling northbound on US 31.

The driver of the motorcycle, 23-year-old Tyler Swihart, was thrown over the handlebars of the motorcycle upon impact, reports said.

Swihart was transported to the hospital via helicopter with injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

The northbound lanes of US 31 were closed from noon until approximately 1:20 p.m.
