Twilight tours offered at the Historic Riverview Cemetery

SOUTH BEND, Ind, - The second oldest Northern Indiana Historical Society, The History Museum, is offering tours of the Historic Riverview Cemetery on August 17.

Led by the museum’s archivist and St. Joseph County Historian, Travis Childs, participants view historic grave sites and learn about people who once lived in the local community.

Created in 1908, Riverview Cemetery is located near the historical marker La Salle’s Landing.  Much of the grounds are located above the St. Joseph River.

Participants should meet at the cemetery’s entrance at 6:30 p.m., which is located at 2300 Portage Avenue. Reservations are not required. The cost is $2 per person and free for members.
