Trailer crash leads to one driver cited, another in hospital
ABC 57 ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- A Ford F250 pulling a trailer was cited for going too fast for weather conditions after a three-vehicle crash sent one driver to the hospital Monday morning on S.R. 15.
Around 8:56 a.m. Monday on S.R. 15 north of C.R. 18, a 2011 Ford F250 pulling a trailer was driving north while a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze and 2020 Lincoln SUV were driving south.
According to the Elkhart County Sheriff's Office, the F250 was driving too fast for the snowy weather, before beginning to slide and colliding head-on with the Cruze.
The SUV attempted to avoid the crash, going off the roadway to the west, striking a mailbox.
The Cruze's driver was transported to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment of chest, ankle, and wrist pain.
The F250's driver, 35-year-old Tye Elder, was cited for Speeds Too Fast for Weather Conditions.
