Tractor driver seriously injured in crash

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. -- A man driving a 1947 Ford 9N tractor was injured when it was rear ended by another vehicle Saturday morning, according to the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Office.

The crash happened around 11:30 a.m. on N. Centreville Road near Featherstone Road, deputies said.

The driver of a pickup truck was traveling southbound on Centreville Road when it struck the back of the tractor being driven by a 55-year-old man from Bronson, deputies said.

The tractor driver was thrown from the vehicle and was unresponsive at the scene.

He was airlifted to Bronson Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the pickup was uninjured.

Deputies are still investigating the crash but they do not believe alcohol or speed were factors.
