UPDATE: Suspect who made Snapchat school threat is turned in by his mother
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. -- UPDATE: The St. Joseph County Sheriff's Office reports dispatch received several calls regarding a threat made towards Three Rivers Community Schools through Snapchat around 8:21 p.m. on Wednesday.
The Three Rivers Police Department then began investigating the threat.
During the investigation, authorities say the decision was made to close Three Rivers Schools on Thursday out of an abundance of caution.
Three Rivers police were able to identify the juvenile suspect who made the threat. The suspect resides outside of city limits.
The suspect was then brought to the sheriff’s office by his mother. The suspect is fully cooperating with the investigation.
Currently, police say there is no credible threat to Three Rivers Community Schools.
After the investigation, a report will be forwarded to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s office and Juvenile Court for review of possible charges.
