Third annual Willie Weeks Memorial Classic Car and Truck Show benefits charity

ELKHART, Ind. -- Elkhart Moose Lodge 599 will host the third annual Willie Weeks Memorial Classic Car and Truck Show on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with all proceeds benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities Michiana.

Lodge officials say the show is held in honor of Willie Weeks, a local car enthusiast, Navy Veteran, and supporter of local charities, who passed away on February 21, 2021.

The event has made a point of supporting a different local charity each year.

“This is an example of how our local community continues to support our mission of caring for families with sick and injured children,” said RMHC Michiana Chief Executive Officer Kierstin Eifler. “We are proud to call Michiana our home thanks to the generous spirit of this community.”

Food vendors, Ron’s River Dogs and Hay Huey Mexican Cuisine, will provide food at the event, and Michael Carluccio will give a special music performance.

A live DJ will also be present.

Vehicle registration is $20.

The first 100 participants will also receive a free T-shirt and dash plaque. T-shirt sizes include large, extra-large, and double extra-large.

There will also be games and trivia. Free coffee and donuts will be provided as well.

Trophies will be awarded for first, second, and third place, plus Best in Show and more.

Classic car and truck categories from 1900 to 1999 will be judged for the awards.
