A burst of snow Wednesday evening
DETROIT, Mich. -- It’s official, Congresswoman Elissa Slotkins and Mike Rogers will be the two names on the November ballot for Michigan Senator.
After securing his victory Tuesday night, Mike Rogers gave his speech focusing on what he’s learned from Michiganders on the campaign trail, and the priorities that he will continue to push in his campaign.
“They just want normal, they want the border closed,” said Republican candidate for U.S. Senate Mike Rogers. “They want their communities safe, they want the drug trade stopped. They want crime in their communities stopped.”
With a surprise visit from Senator Debbie Stabenow, giving Slotkin her endorsement after a long 23 years in the Senate seat, Slotkin gave her speech reiterating her priorities of strengthening Michigan’s middle class and making Michigan communities safe.
“I want to protect our kids from the things that are truly harming them, and I mean truly,” said Congresswoman Slotkin in her speech. “The number one killer of children under 21 is gun violence; in our communities in our schools by suicide and by accident."
Slotkin added that she is ready to face Rogers in a debate.
