Two dead in an officer involved shooting in Hendricks County
ABC 57 HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind. -- One male and one female are dead in a domestic disturbance in Hendricks County.
On May 25, at approximately 1 p.m. Hendricks County Sheriff's department responded to a domestic disturbance at 671 Edgewood Dr. in Danville, Ind.
While arriving on scene they made contact with a male who came out of the home and ran back inside.
The man was seen exiting and reentering the home with a rifle.
additional officers from Hendricks County Joint Tactical Team, Danville Police Department, Avon Police Department, Brownsburg Police Department and Plainfield Police Department were called on scene.
The man would come out of the residence one last time pointing the rifle at officers and deputies.
The officers would then fire their weapons and strike the man.
First aid was provided immediately but he would be declared dead at the scene.
Officers would then search the property for the female, who would later be found in a grassy area just south of the home.
She was declared dead at the Scene.
No deputies or officers were injured during the incident and all officers involved have been put on administrative duty per their department policy.
The Indiana State Police will be conducting the investigation.
