The Krasl Art Center kicks off the Art Fair on the Bluff with a block party
SAINT JOSEPH, Mich. -- Creativity can be seen everywhere at the 62nd Krasl Art Fair. Friday's festivities included live music, food trucks and community coming together at the block party.
The fair is presented by the 1st Source Bank Wealth Advisory Services and features 172 unique artists. Executive Director of Krasl Art Center, Tami Fauver, says no two artists are alike.
“It’s all one of a kind and we have all different categories; we have wood artists, fiber artists, jewelry, painting, 2D, drawing, printmaking. 11 categories total and they’re going to be selling all weekend,” said Fauver.
Fauver says artists come from across the world -- showcasing their work in booths overlooking the Bluff of Saint Joseph. These artists take years honing their craft, like master potter and tile maker for Shearrow Tile & Pottery, Bill Shearrow.
“It’s my life you know, so I’ve been working my whole life on creating these pieces and putting this together and it’s taken me years to achieve where I am now.”
Make sure to look at Krasl Art Center's website for more information, but it's important to note Lake Blvd. from Ship St. to Park St. and the west half of 500 block of Broad St. will be closed at 6:00 a.m. Friday through the weekend. City Parking lot 1, 3, 5 and 6 will open at 10:00 a.m. for general parking.
The fair will be free to the public Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
