PLYMOUTH, Ind-- Plymouth Fire Department recently became part of the Fire Buddies Program, an organization that works to support children battling a terminal illness. They adopted this program in June of 2026 and just in a few months are already making an impact on their communities.

This program brings support in many forms whether that's helping with hospital bills, just checking in, bringing the families food, or even taking them out for a night of fun. The opportunities for support are really endless.  Aaron Wagers President of Fire Buddies in Plymouth says that nationwide there are 170 chapters in 16 states. One of the goals this department has is to get the word out so that other departments adopt this program and can help bring support to more families!

Currently the Plymouth Fire Department Fire Buddies Chapter is doing a fundraiser, selling raffle tickets for a pickup truck! For more information on how you can get involved visit the Departments Facebook page
