Sturgis police investigating morning hit and run; pedestrian taken to the hospital

STURGIS, Mich. -- Police in Sturgis are investigating after a pedestrian was hurt in a hit and run.

Officials say it happened at about 5:45 a.m. on September 16 in area of Nottawa and Washington Streets.

According to a press release, a vehicle traveling southbound hit a pedestrian and left the scene. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital, where officials say they are in stable condition.

The Sturgis Department of Public Safety is asking anyone with information to reach out.
