Tenth year of Benton Harbor free holiday food program on Dec. 19
Southwest Michigan Community Action Agency BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- Southwest Michigan Community Action Agency (SMCAA) is putting on its 10th year of its Holiday Food Sharing Program, providing free food boxes to roughly 400 local residents and families in need Friday, Dec. 19.
The Holiday Food Sharing Program collects and distributes roughly 400 food boxes, alongside fresh produce and holiday meat products, to local residents across Benton Harbor, Benton Charter Township, and St. Joseph.
Distribution for this year's event will take place Friday, Dec. 19, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in a drive-thru format. Participants must remain inside their cars, and their trunks must be cleared to receive a food box.
You must complete an application, available at the SMCAA office at 185 East Main Street, Suite 303 in Benton Harbor. Applications are accepted from Monday, Dec. 1 through Friday, Dec. 14 or until the maximum number of food baskets has been reached. Office hours are from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
