UPDATE: Teen suspect arrested after police pursuit now arrested for fatal Milwaukee crash

UPDATE: Trevon Loston has now been arrested in connection to a fatal crash in Milwaukee which occurred on Sept. 16, according to local authorities.

Police say three people were killed after Loston ran a red light and slammed into a Mazda 6. Two others were injured.

Authorities say Milwaukee officers attempted to pull Loston over prior to the crash for speeding and passing vehicles in the bike lane.

A pursuit ensued with Loston traveling over 70 mph in a 25-mph zone, ignoring red lights and stop signs, plus driving into oncoming traffic.

Loston is currently in jail in Milwaukee County and has yet to be formally charged in the deadly crash.

ORIGINAL STORY: ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart Police Department reports a pursuit occurred on Sunday around 9:53 a.m. when an officer observed a Honda CR-V near the intersection of S. 11th Street and W. Indiana Avenue that was the subject of a FLOCK alert saying it was reported stolen out of Milwaukee.

The officer then activated his lights and sirens to conduct a traffic stop, at which point a brief pursuit ensued.

The officer lost the Honda briefly before finding it parked and unoccupied on Compton Street near W. Garfield Avenue.

Police found a firearm and suspected marijuana inside the vehicle. Officers confirmed the vehicle was previously reported stolen to the Milwaukee Police Department.

At around 10 a.m., officers located a man matching the Honda driver’s description in the 1400 block of Delaware Street.

After running from an officer, the suspect, later identified as 19-year-old Trevon Loston of Elkhart, was detained in the 1200 block of Delaware Street.

Loston was arrested and taken to the Elkhart County Jail.

The Elkhart County Prosecutor's Office subsequently charged him with Unlawful Possession of a Handgun, a Level 5 Felony, Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle, a Level 6 Felony, and Possession of Marijuana, a Class B Misdemeanor.

Loston's bond was set at $5,000.
