Michigan State Trooper opens fire on suspect in Benton Harbor
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- After heavy rain showers, many were left without power across Michiana.
The rain started Saturday evening and was not expected to leave any severe damage, but it did knock out power along Quince Road, off of State Road 2.
The power outage happened immediately according to residents in the neighborhood, who were sitting outside of their homes, watching the rain.
"We were outside just watching the storm and then all of a sudden, we heard a big pop and then all the lights went out," said resident Chelsea Konopiniski.
Unfortunately after the damage to the power lines from fallen trees, homes and businesses in the area had no idea how long they could be without power.
"We’re all out of power and I'm pretty sure it goes quite a way. The gas stations out and it’s going to cause an accident because there’s always an accident here." said Konopiniski
