S.R. 933 reopened after active police situation following pursuit

UPDATE: The suspect, a 36-year-old man, has been detained and police have cleared the scene. Traffic is moving in all directions.

Authorities say the pursuit began after a Mishawaka police officer located the stolen vehicle at the intersection of Grape and Cleveland Roads.

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- Multiple agencies are blocking part of S.R. 933 and Auten Road following an hour-long police pursuit.

Dispatchers confirm police first attempted to stop the suspect on Eastbound Cleveland Road at 4:47 a.m.

The driver was stopped just before 5:45 a.m. near the Indiana-Michigan state line.

ABC57 crew members confirm a person was put into handcuffs.
