Metro Homicide called to investigate after police find body during welfare check

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – At approximately 2:45 p.m. the South Bend Police Department responded to a welfare check in the 1500 block of S. Webster Avenue in South Bend.

Upon arriving, SBPD found a deceased body in the home.

According to the SBPD, the victim had been deceased for more than a day.

The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit has taken over the case.

Family and friends of the victim are currently being interviewed.

The autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.

This investigation is still on-going.
