MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The St. Joseph County Department of Veteran Affairs hosted an open house on Tuesday to help women veterans learn about the services and programs available to them.
“We understand the population and the changing demographics. We have a lot more women that are actually getting out of the military who have also earned the right to their services and it’s not just for our newer veterans, it’s for our older veterans,” Clinic Operations Manager Kimberly Booker said.
Female veterans had the opportunity to meet doctor personally, prior to any future appointments.
The ultimate goal of Tuesday’s event was to better meet the growing needs of female service members and ensure they are getting the resources they deserve.
