St. Joseph County officials offer help sessions for property tax relief program

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - St. Joseph County residents ages 55 and older wanting to take advantage of the three-year property tax relief program can get their questions answered by county officials during one of three help sessions in December.

The relief program was approved by the county council in November. Under the program, residents won’t see more than a 2% increase on their home property taxes for three years.

The FAQ sessions will be held on the following days:

  • December 4 – 6 to 7:30 p.m.
    • Francis Branch Library (52655 N. Ironwood Road, South Bend)
  • December 8 – 2 to 3:30 p.m.
  • December 13 – 6 to 7:30 p.m.
    • St. Joe County Main Library (304 S. Main St., South Bend, Classroom B)

In January, county officials will help residents sign up for the program during a session at the St. Joe County Main Library:

  • January 11 – 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
    • St. Joe County Main Library (304 S. Main St., South Bend, Classroom B)
