South Central High School installs public access AED

South Central High School

LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- An outdoor AED SaveStation has been installed at the front entrance of door number three at South-Central High School. 

Tonn and Blank Construction donated the machine that made the installation of the new SaveStation possible.

This SaveStation, which becomes the sixth outdoor 24-hour accessible AED on SC's campus, provides an important layer of safety.

The SaveStation is designed to automatically call 911 the moment the AED is removed from the cabinet.

Five other outdoor, temperature-controlled AED units were made possible by generous donations from the Health Foundation of LaPorte.

The addition of the new AEDs further strengthens the network of 10+ AEDs already located throughout the school building and Student Activity Center. There is a of total more than 15 AEDs are on campus.

AEDs are managed and maintained by certified athletic trainer, Danielle McIntyre, and RN Kelli Soenksen, the school corporation nurse.
