South Bend Schools offers free summer meals for kids

SOUTH BEND, Ind. —  The South Bend Community School Corporation announced its participation in the Summer Food Service Program, offering free meals to children and teens in the community this summer.

School officials say the program aims to provide nutritious meals during summer months when some families may have limited food access.

The free meals are available to kids ages 18 and younger at several sites across the community.

There is no paperwork to fill out and kids can visit one of the designated sites during mealtimes to receive a fresh meal for free.

School officials note all meals must be consumed on-site

Meals included are breakfast and lunch. Not all sites provide breakfast.
