South Bend traffic restrictions due to NIPSCO maintenance and construction
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Department of Public Works announced Cleveland Road and Washington Street will have traffic restrictions starting Monday, July 29, weather permitting.
Cleveland Road from Portage Avenue to Shellbark Avenue will be restricted to two lanes while NIPSCO performs work on a gas main related to their new substation.
The eastbound lanes will be converted to maintain two-way traffic.
Restrictions will be in place until the expected completion date of Friday, August 16, weather permitting.
Washington Street from Main Street to Lafayette Boulevard will be closed for crane work regarding construction at the Liberty Tower.
The detour route will be Colfax Avenue via Lafayette Boulevard and Main Street.
Washington Street is expected to reopen by the end of Friday, August 2, weather permitting.
