SOUTH BEND, Ind.—Local entrepreneurs gathered on Friday to host a community bazaar to celebrate International Women’s Day.

Bazaar organizer and local artist, Anna Drew, decided to host the bazaar because she wanted to bring together local female makers.

“We are doing a bazaar for International Women’s Day, which is super exciting because I know so many women in business right now and to celebrate overall, culturally a wonderful holiday of woman and their value, is awesome,” Drew said.

Drew recruited other female entrepreneurs to contribute to the event, such as Love and Macaroons, Simply Pressed, and Luxe Wagon Mobile Fashion Merchants.

“We’re all building businesses that contribute to growth, and that’s every day, not just International Women’s Day,” Drew said.

The theme of this year’s women’s day is #BalanceforBetter. Attendees had different interpretations of what that means to them.

“I am very lucky to have grown up in a very strong household with a strong mother who is an art6ist and entrepreneur herself and I think it’s important to represent all of the mothers, daughters and sisters that make,” Maggie Drew, Anna’s sister, also a local artist, said.

"Definitely women supporting women," Luxe Wagon owner Paige Fessenden said.

The bazaar is taking place on March 8 from 12 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the LaSalle Building, located at 237 N. Michigan Street in South Bend.

There is art and refreshments are for sale, as well as a flower crown making station.
