South Bend Department of Public Works announces traffic work beginning Monday

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Beginning Monday in South Bend, Hill Street from Jefferson Boulevard to Washington Street will be closed, temporary portable traffic control signals will maintain two-way traffic on Mayflower Road between Dogwood Drive and Belleville Circle during NIPSCO maintenance, and the Riverside Drive, California Avenue, and Leland Drive intersection will be closed for improvements.

Hill Street is expected to reopen May 15, weather permitting.

Mayflower Road restrictions will be in place throughout the duration of the project, which has an estimated completion date of May 8, weather permitting.

The Riverside Drive, California Avenue, and Leland Drive Intersection project is expected to be completed by June 30, weather permitting. Detour routes will be Vassar Avenue and Lafayette Boulevard via Navarre Street and Portage Avenue.
