SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Players for the South Bend Cubs returned home from a stretch of away games this week, but didn’t get out on the diamond on Monday.
Instead, Cubs players came out to visit and support patients at Beacon Children’s Hospital.
The idea to visit the kids came from Cubs player Jonathan Sierra, who even gave his baseball cap to a patient.
Braxton, who received the hat, said that he was overwhelmed by the team’s kindness.
The South Bend Cubs start their next homestand on Monday against the Peoria Chiefs.
