South Bend cancels and delays flights due to winter storm
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Multiple flights in and out of South Bend International Airport were canceled or delayed on Saturday night.
ABC57 spoke with some travelers at the airport that were dealing with those delays or cancelations.
One woman, who was supposed to be heading back to Florida told us that she understands the plane couldn't leave because of the weather but would rather be headed to Florida right now.
Leanna Ross, another traveler stated, "My first flight was canceled when I was still at home, and then the second flight that I tried to book, I've been here since about 11 o'clock this morning, and we actually had some mechanical issues in the plane that originally delayed us. And then we, unfortunately, plane got out on the tarmac. Tried to de-ice twice, and they eventually decided we're not going to be able to get out of here, so they pulled us back in, and I'm waiting for my ride to come get me again."
On the South Bend Airports website, there were multiple flights that had been canceled for Sunday morning from Minneapolis, Saint Paul, and Detroit.
