NEW CARLISLE, Ind. -- The St. Joseph County Police Department reports a semi-truck's tire blew out and burst into flames in front of the new Amazon facility on S.R. 2 Monday afternoon.

Officers with the department were able to lend a hand since they were already in the area due to their enforcement action.

The New Carlisle Fire Department says this was a fire with a lot of smoke on an already congested S.R. 2.

NCFD crews were working on a crash on the Indiana Toll Road at the same time as this incident, so their mutual aid partner, the Saint Joseph County Fire Territory, responded to this truck fire.

Police say there were no injuries.
