SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The basketball team at Parmount School of Excellence South Bend united on the court with stunning footwear purchased by their coach.
Second grade teacher, Michael Hunt, started Paramount South Bend's first basketball program this fall, after the school opened in the summer.
As head coach, he saw the need for students who haven't played competitively before, including many who haven't owned a pair of basketball shoes.
Prior to the team's first scrimmage against Heroes Camp, this need prompted Hunt to buy each kid on the team new LeBron James shoes with his own money.
Unity in footwear helped create the "team" feeling that many of the students have been missing.
Paramount staff have joined in on the LeBron James kicks, aiming to wear them next week in support of the team.
