Second COVID-19 vaccine booster dose available for Indiana children ages 5-11
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have authorized a second COVID-19 vaccine booster dose for Indiana children aged five to 11.
The Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) is now advising vaccine providers to administer the Pfizer pediatric vaccine to this age group whose last dose was received at least five months prior.
Currently, the Pfizer vaccine is the only one approved for children in this age group.
Any site that administers pediatric doses of the vaccine can administer a pediatric booster dose. Most sites allow for walk-ins.
To find your nearest vaccine location, you can visit the Indiana Vaccine Information and Planning page or call Indiana 211 at 866-211-9966.
