BOURBON, Ind. – Board members for the Triton Community School Corporation approved to demolish the old Bourbon gymnasium which was originally built in 1928.
Schools officials said that although the gym represents an important part of the School Corporation, it made more sense financially to shut it down.
The School Corporation says that they were paying 15 to 20 thousand dollars a year in utilities, which factored in to the decision.
The demolition is scheduled to take place fall break in October.
