Santa's Elficers Program now accepting applications
SOUTH BEND, Ind.-- The South Bend Police Department has opened applications for its annual Santa’s Elficers program, a holiday initiative that provides gifts to local children in need. Organized by FOP #36, the program has served hundreds of families since its start in 2020 and continues to grow each year.
The Santa’s Elficers program is entirely donor-driven and aims to support children ages 14 and younger. Shortly before Christmas, police officers will deliver wrapped gifts directly to the families’ doorsteps.
Applications are available at the South Bend Police Department and must be submitted by Nov. 26, at the department’s front desk.
Reminder that applications must be turned in at the front desk. They are not accepting any online applications this year.
Their front desk is open Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. - 11 p.m.
The community is encouraged to contribute through donations of money, gift cards, holiday gifts, clothing, bedding, shoes, and non-perishable food items.
The community can also contribute to the program by visiting the Amazon Wishlist.
