Saint Matthew Cathedral hosts Holy Hour every Wednesday
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Saint Matthew Cathedral, with open arms, extends an invitation to anyone in the community who seeks comfort or a place to pray, especially those who may have their lives affected by recent ICE crackdowns.
The church has Holy Hours every Wednesday starting at 6 p.m. until 7 p.m.
"Well, tonight, at six o'clock, we're gathering to pray for peace in our country with everything going on in the world right now," said Reverend Andrew Budzinski of Saint Matthew Cathedral. "Our doors are open to all whenever we pray, especially for peace. Catholic, non-Catholic; believers or even unbelievers."
Reverend Budzinski continues, "...we want to provide a place in what is called God's house for all of his children to gather together, to be together, to sit in the pews next to each other and pray for peace, regardless of their political positions."
Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend released a statement Jan. 31-- which can be read here-- inviting bishops and priests across the United States to offer a Holy Hour for Peace.
