Rounds of strong to severe storms into Tuesday morning
ABC57 First Warning Neighborhood Weather Forecast
Sunday, July 14, 2024
Active few days of weather are ahead of us with multiple rounds of storms, each posing a risk of severe weather. The first round will likely arrive tonight, near or after midnight. Storms could bring gusty winds tonight of 40-50 mph, but they will be weakening on their approach to Michiana. It will stay muggy and warm overnight with lows only near 70. We clear out by sunrise Monday, and much if not all of Monday will be dry. Heat and humidity build with temperatures nearing 90 with tropical humidity. This will set the stage for possibly a strong line of storms Monday evening and night. Damaging winds are the greatest concern along with flooding. Given we have seen so much rain last week, it will not be hard to flood, especially near rivers or streams. We are in a Flood Watch until 2 AM Tuesday for this concern. Tuesday has a chance of lingering showers and storms, but we likely will become dry Tuesday night. Wednesday and beyond look very nice and refreshing with much lower humidity and temperatures in the mid 70s to lower 80s. A very welcomed dry stretch of many days begins Wednesday!
Tonight: Thunderstorms. Possible severe weather. Low 70.
Monday: Mostly dry, isolated storm possible. Severe weather possible Monday evening/night. High 88.
Tuesday: Scattered showers and storms. High 84.
Wednesday: Partly cloudy, cooler and drier. High 81.
