Rough surf Thursday

Wind and high waves will hit the lake Michigan shoreline Thursday. Breezy weather is expected across the area, more-so along the lake shore, where gusts could top 30 mph. The strong breeze will cause three to six foot waves at the beaches. Swimming is strongly discouraged. Red flags were already posted at Silver Beach Wednesday evening and will stay in place through Thursday.

If the surf isn't enough to keep you out of the water, the cooler temperatures might. Highs on Thursday are only expected to reach the upper 60's at the beaches.
