DEC. 27 UPDATE: The South Bend Police Department say a suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with shots being fired into two South Bend homes on Christmas Day.
"On Wednesday, Dec. 25, around 6:50 p.m., South Bend Police were called to the 1800 block of Kemble Avenue on the report of shots fired," SBPD said. "Upon arrival, officers observed damage from apparent gunfire to two occupied residences."
After an investigation, 28-year-old Franklin Soto-Meza was identified as a suspect. When interviewed by authorities, Soto-Meza confessed he fired shots outside after getting into a domestic argument.
No one was injured in this incident.
On Dec. 27, the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office charged Soto-Meza with two felony counts of Criminal Recklessness and he is currently being held at the St. Joseph County Jail.
ORIGINAL: SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend Police Department Officers were called to the 1800 block of S. Kemble Avenue around 6:50 p.m. on Christmas night for reports of shots being fired at a home in the area.
There were five people in the home at the time of the shooting, all of whom were unharmed. One of the occupants called the police to report the shots.
The investigation is ongoing.
