UPDATE: All lanes of US 20 Bypass reopen after large tree removed from westbound lanes

UPDATE AS OF 2:51 P.M.: The Indiana State Police Bremen Post announced the Bypass has reopened.

The Indiana Department of Transportation Northwest responded and removed the tree.

All lanes are now open, but authorities say motorists should expect delays as the traffic backup takes time to clear.

ORIGINAL: ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- Sgt. Ted Bohner with the Indiana State Police reports a large tree has fallen across the westbound lanes of the U.S. 20 Bypass before 2 p.m.

The westbound lanes remain blocked just west of the Michigan Street exit.

One eastbound lane has also been affected.
