Repaving work to begin on U.S. 12 in Berrien County
BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced the Michigan Department of Transportation will start a repaving project in Berrien County on Thursday.
One mile of U.S. 12 near Three Oaks will be repaved as part of a $675,000 investment by MDOT.
The work is stated to include milling and resurfacing, concrete curbs, gutters, sidewalks and ramps, and pavement markings, to preserve the pavement, extend the life of the roadway, and improve safety for motorists.
MDOT officials say this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support eight jobs.
“Across Michigan, we are moving dirt and fixing the damn roads to drive economic activity, help Michiganders go to work, drop their kids off at school, and run errands safely,” said Whitmer.
During this time, there will be single-lane closures.
The work estimated to be done by Monday, September 30, weather permitting.
