Remains found in Elkhart missing woman case, prosecutor confirms

ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart Prosecutors office confirmed with ABC57 that partial remains of Linda Faye Robinson were found, confirmed with DNA testing.

Robinson’s family said they were notified of the discovery months ago, where they were told there was not enough evidence to file charges.

Robinson was reported missing in April of 2025 while under the care of her court-appointed guardians Loni and Debra Collins. The case was given to the homicide unit in October.

“We all wanted the same thing, for her to be placed in someone else in the family’s home,” said Tavarri Robinson, a nephew of Linda Robinson. “But before we could get to that, she was murdered.”

Loni and Debra Collins were both convicted for using money from Robinson’s social security. Loni was charged with theft, and Debra was charged with fraud and remains in prison.

The Elkhart prosecutor's office could not confirm any suspects in the investigation.

“We don’t know what they’re doing, we have reached out…” Tavarri Robinson said. “We haven’t heard anything back.”

The family is calling for more action from investigators in Elkhart, after months of silence in the case.

“We feel like just because she’s handicapped, black, no one gives a damn” Tavarri Robinson said. “She was our family member, and she was cared about and loved.”
