ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- St. Joseph County Surveyor Derek Dieter announced he's looking for citizens to volunteer to help with a cleanup project at 10 a.m. Saturday at Portage Manor.

Dieter says he will have gloves and equipment for picking up the trash.

DLZ Construction Services will provide t-shirts for participants in the cleanup, and Chik-fil-A sandwiches will be provided.

Organizers say the main goal is to collect and dispose of the trash people throw out their windows while driving.

Several cleanups have been done in the area to clean up the manor and Portage Avenue from Boland Drive to Cleveland Road.

Dieter says he will be available from noon to 6 p.m. to give a tour of the Portage Manor trails to anyone who'd like to.
